It was still dark when we woke up, stumbling around to get everything together that I thought I had so carefully planned out the night before. We gently woke the kids up, fed them and brushed their teeth before getting the girls into the sweetest little white dresses. Jerseys were fought, but still pulled on before we managed to get them all into the car – late as usual.
We arrived at the forest with the light filtering softly through the trees and heard Katie calling us from a little way in. The girls were very excited and we managed to get them there without any mishaps. The tea table awaited, kitted out with flowers, sweeties and marshmallows galore. The girls got even more excited. The jerseys were taken off and they nervously got to acclimatize in the dappled sunlight before sweet moments were skillfully captured into photos.
This all happened because a couple of months ago we were told about Katie from Magical Moments in Time. She was looking for models and a friend of ours put us in contact. The rest is pretty much history.
As you know, Riya has done a couple of shoots as a Sticky Fudge model so she plucked on a huge cheesy smile and got on with it without even the smallest hint of shyness. But this was a huge first for Kyla. HUGE. Understandably she was very shy and a bit self conscious, but she didn’t let that stop her from trying to do everything that was asked of her.
But seriously I really only think it went so well because of how relaxed and bubbly Katie is. She made us all feel at ease, I say all because as the parent of the child you have this weird sense of needing to control them and when you can’t (because they are children and not robots) we often feel embarrassed. Katie knew which shots she wanted but eased the girls into it at their own pace – it really was a pleasure working with her!
But you guys, I could ramble on and on about Katie, what really speaks without speaking is the photos. The photos! You have to see these photos!
These glitter polish nails are just too much for me!
Not to be outdone by his sisters Knox also had to join in on the action. As soon as he sat down with them he immediately destroyed everything that was close to him – so hilarious. Right at the end, just as we were thinking of packing up he went and posed by the table – all on his own, because we couldn’t be there to only take pictures of the girls by the table right?!
Thankfully Katie has done loads of family photo shoots and she willingly snapped all his cuteness.
Obviously I can’t wait to blow up my favourite picture (the first picture) into A1 and place it at the end of the passage.
Before we had the opportunity to do this shoot I had imagined doing something so similar. I’m sure that if you have kids you might have thought about this too? The good news is that if you have, or even if you have the need to do another shoot, Katie has graciously given me something special to give to you.
Because you read 3 Kids, 2 Dogs and 1 Old House you get a 10% discount if you use the code “321love” to book a shoot before 8 July.

Absolutely. Freaking. Gorgeous!!
Oh wow! How gorgeous are your children and these pics are absolutely great! I can imagine you must be so happy with the outcome! I was thinking of booking another photoshoot of our family (last time was quite stressful with our eldest darling daughter not wanting to pose for anything and having a proper tantrum every few minutes!).
Stunning pics. And you have gorgous kids. Can totally identify with the little one destroying stuff. Nicky has just distributed crayons all over the kitchen and broken a few too.
Beautiful!
