At the end of last year we sat pondering what on Earth to get our family for Christmas. Eventually we decided that we weren’t going to waste money on random gifts that we weren’t sure that our family would love and so instead of that, we got them all a cool photo frame…
The plan of action was to round up all of the Alfino clan and then take them out to Constantia for a little family photo shoot. The timing was perfect because Ma was back from New Zealand and Mia and Ben were down from Australia for the holidays… Actually the timing couldn’t have been better. It’s not often that we are all together like this – we absolutely had to make the most of it.
I try and capture our times together with my camera and I’ll admit that I sort of do them relative justice, but there is really nothing like just spending the afternoon together and having someone else (that is actually really talented) to capture all of the special moments that we share.
Obviously we had to have Susie Le Blond take our photo’s because, well she’s amazing. Check our last shoot if you don’t believe me.
This post may be photo heavy, but I seriously couldn’t choose between all the pictures. I’ve gone through them so many times and each time my heart swells with love for these people that I call family. I’m reminded how so very blessed we are to spend time with each other, but especially Ma and that the kids get a chance to know and love their Great Grandmother.
It’s always necessary to get the traditional “posed” family pictures, so here they are.
But my absolute favourite pictures are the moments in between the posed moments. There is nothing better than those moments! And I have yet to experience a photographer that captures those moments better than Susie. Seriously.
