You know when you think the worst thing that you’ll have to deal with all day is to force your kids to eat healthy options at every meal, but then instead you knock over a dog?
No?
Well neither did I when I woke up this morning. I was so worried about trying to get my kids to eat the healthy, unsweetened yoghurt that we bought, instead of the sugar filled cereal we normally buy, that they planned a revolt and flat out refused to eat it. So as a compromise I sprinkled it with 100’s and 1000’s. Which, when you think about it, is just colourful sugar. So ja, they might have beaten me there. But tomorrow is another war and we’ll see who wins then.
You probably shouldn’t bet on me. Just saying.
The good thing about being doped up on sugar is that they have a lot of energy. Don’t you just love it when your kids have too much energy? I love it. It’s such a joy to run after them all over the place – you don’t even need to pretend like you’re having fun, because obviously you are. Also, the post sugar crash just means lots of cuddles.
We won’t flesh out the point that you’re cuddling a raving lunatic who might want to poke your eyes out or that running after them all is the reason you don’t have energy for, well anything at all, because that just kills the calm tranquil mood I sarcastically set.
There is one thing that can cure a sugar high though. We took our kids to try out our Cotton On Kids #playgroundapproveddenim at Rush in Claremont. They used all their energy to jump, slide, fall, skid, sink, tumble, rumble and giggle. They did not stop moving for a full hour, jumping on every single trampoline they could, diving all over the place and just generally having a ball of a time.
If you’re wondering what makes these jeans so great let me tell you. The beauty of the jeans is that while they look fashionable and have the “skinny” fit, they are so soft and stretchy that the kids had no problem contorting into all the weird an wonderful positions you’ll see in the pictures. The jeans are still in stores, so stock up before Winter!
On the dog knocking over note, it was (thankfully) after I dropped the kids off at school when I was driving past about 6 dogs running free from their owners across the road. I slowed down to almost a stop until I saw them all safely on the pavements and just as I was about to pass them, one of the dogs was playing with the others and ran straight in front of my left wheel. I tried to stop as quickly as I could but I still hit the poor thing. It ran off with only a limp and then the owner mumbled, “Oh this happened to my other dog too” and then walked off. Didn’t acknowledge me or anything. It was so awful, it still makes me sick thinking about it.

Cute man! And it looks like you had the place to yourself! Score!
ouch sorry about that dog. Makes me sick too.
Sorry, hit enter before I finished typing: Terribly sorry about the poor doggy incident, can only imagine how you must feel. Those owners should’ve been far more responsible. But take heart in that at least you saw him limp away.
Your kids are just too gorgeous! And I’m SO going to try the jeans. All of Ethan’s jeans are stiff and he hates wearing them ‘cos it means he can barely move 🙁
Sorry about the dog, never nice 🙁
I think I need to get my boys those jeans. Which stores stock them?
They are at all the Cotton On KIDS stores at the moment – saw them myself at the Canal Walk branch
I do not even want to know about that dog owner’s attitude – not fit to be a puppy parent
