It’s not often that you get to celebrate an 80th birthday.
I mean 80 years is a pretty long time to be alive. I can’t even begin to imagine all the changes that those 80 years must have brought with them as they rolled along. Not having a TV or a washing machine or a cell phone or any of the other things that “we can’t live without”.
But this post is not about that.
It’s about celebrating Seth’s grandmothers birthday. I’ve been lucky enough to have been able to get to know this incredible woman over the last 12 years. We’re so privileged to be able to spend as much time with her as we do. Denise or as we call her, “Maatjie” is a prayerful and thoughtful woman with a naturally fantastic sense of humour. Sometimes I’m still giggling days after when I recall our conversations.
We spent the afternoon celebrating her birthday at Suikerbossie (a really lovely location for a special event). I also took the opportunity to get reconnected with my camera whom I have neglected for too long. So without further ado, I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
