GOSH darnit, what a day.
A very, very hot day. Here I was thinking that Summer was over and that we’d be snuggling up to each other to keep warm and instead, we were melting into pools on the floor.
Despite the wayward weather, after months of planning, prepping and a little bit of stressing, everything came together to culminate in a wonderful event on Saturday afternoon. The #CTMeetUp was just so much fun.
But it wouldn’t have been the success it was without every single one of the 55 guys and girls that joined us on the day. Thank you for wanting to connect with other bloggers and to grow your community, to support each other and have fun together. This is exactly the reason I do this every year so thank you for indulging me in making it happen.
(By the way – if you weren’t there but want to be the first to know about the next one, SIGN UP TO OUR MAILER HERE – or use the one embedded below – it will add you to the mailing list for the next #CTMeetUp).
Eat On Main was a pretty cool event to host a get together at. Massimo had the hard task of making sure that everyone was catered for (despite their food preferences) and I think he did a great job – my chicken was delish. Plus, he pretty much gave me free reign to do whatever I needed to, helped me lug 66 boxes of wine and just generally made sure he was there every step of the way – so thank you! Just next time, make sure the weather plays ball 😉
This year we tried something different and had a couple of sponsors at the event to engage with the bloggers right then and there. Baby Sense was on hand to explain their wrap and gorgeous muslin cloths, receiving blankets and so much more. And Bach and Spatone were there to test every ones iron levels – I scored surprisingly well – Yay for eating steak on the regular!
Probably the best thing at the event was the social printing through Brandrocket. Any pictures with the tag #CTmeetup were able to be printed right there at the event. Definitely something to consider for any events you may be planning in the future. Plus they’re going to be bringing out a smaller, more cost efficient one soon, so keep an eye out.
And the last thank you is to my husband, who supports me, encourages me and helps me pack goody bags until 12pm. You are my rock and none of this would be possible without you and your support.
OK, OK, enough from me. We also took a bajillion pictures of the day, so I’m going to stop with all my wordyness and let you imagine you were there and hopefully it will inspire you to be at the next one!
If you were there, please don’t forget to give me a little feedback for the next event – shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes. Take the survey here.
Also, if you’re wanting your very own #CTMeetUp goody bag, it might be a good thing if you’re subscribed to my newsletter, because there might be a special one going to just those people. #JustSaying.

I would still love to attend one of the #CTMeetup events one day and meet ALL the amazing Cape Town bloggers!
Yes! I’ll give you lots of notice next time, provided that you aren’t imparting all your knowledge at the #Jozimeetup again 😉
So sad that I missed this one due to being involved in another event!
Can’t wait for he next one!
It looked amazing and sounded great!
Well done Cindy X
We really missed you!!
Lovely, goody bags look amazing and big. Wish I was a blogger 🙂
You might not be a blogger but there is still a chance that you can get your hands on a goody bag – keep an eye out in the next week or so 😉
will definitely, thank you.
So much fun. Thank you for having us and all your hard work 🙂 Was a great event.
No, thank you for coming all the way here to talk to us and share your knowledge! It was so great finally meeting you!
It was my first time attending and I am 100% sure that it will definitely not be my last. Much respect to you for organising such an amazing & successful event.
I’m so glad that you came and enjoyed yourself!
Hi Cindy
So sorry I could not make it to this event. Was so looking forward to it but being unemployed it just was not possible.
Hope to make it to the next one.
Looks like you’ve outdone yourself once again.
Well done on hosting another successful event.
🙂
Wow – looks amazing. I always think that going to these meetups isn’t really for me. I mean, I blog, but I don’t consider myself a “blogger”! Perhaps I’ll give the Jozi Meetup a try next time 🙂
No ways – you should definitely go! If you blog that means you’re a blogger!
Oh gosh it looked amazing! Well done Cindy! I’ll be at the next one for sure!
