Because I can’t find one specific thing to talk about – (there’s just so much going on I wouldn’t know where to start), I thought that I would follow in the footsteps of the lovely Dani Hampton on Sometimes Sweet and let you in on what’s really happening over here at the Alfino abode.
Listening To: For some reason I just can’t get enough of Mumford and Sons and Kings Of Leon. Oldies but goodies. I don’t know what it is about that genre of music but it makes my soul happy. Whenever I listen to it I imagine myself lying on a deck chair out on the beach, with my earphones in, my eyes closed and the music blasting in my ears as loud as I could stand it. On that random note, have you ever noticed that now that you are a Mom you can’t ever listen to music with earphones in and turned up? At least not if the kids are home anyway. Weirdly it seems to be the one sense of “freedom” that I miss the most. Not that I EVER did it before I had kids.
Feeling Thankful For: Our new gas heater. Since our last electric heater burst after our power outages and surges we’ve been freezing over here. Seth even had ice on his windshield on Monday morning. ICE! In CAPE TOWN! What is this world coming to?! Anyway, despite my huge fear of gas from all the terrible action movies that we have watched over the years, we took the plunge and went gas. It is so wonderful! Really.
And if you’re a cool guy you don’t look at explosions, so you might not know what I’m talking about.

Thinking About: Why on Earth this month is sucking so much for so many people. Is it the weather? All the sicknesses going around? Whatever it is needs to stop. I can’t deal with it anymore.
Eating: I always go through phases of things that I crave. At the moment it’s scrambled eggs with chopped up vienna in it. Weird but delicious. And also Nik Nacks with a cup of piping hot Milo – that combo is flipping amazing!
Watching: Well, since those outages that I mentioned, our DSTV went bogus. It’s stuck on Comedy Central. So we stopped watching it and started watching some series that we had. Enjoying White Collar but wondering when they’re going to get better writers? And possibly better actors. Am I the only one that thinks the main guy is just too pretty to be a man?
Bummed Out On: The fact that my kids are still sick and not sleeping, I managed to bash my bumper pulling out of my driveway on Monday morning. Maybe it’s because I’m not sleeping… But anyway, it’s totally Seth’s fault.
Loving: My new phone. I finally joined the world of Samsung and Instagram and it has changed my life. That’s right Blackberry – you suck butt. I can’t wait to do what every other Blackberry owner in the history of Blackberry has ever wanted to do, which is throw it against the wall. Really, really hard. I may even document it. And I will go down in history like Naomi Cambell. Although that might not be such a good thing.

I enjoyed White Collar to start with too but got bored before I finished season 1. It’s interesting but drags a bit… Matt Blomer is pretty much the only reason I started watching anyway… and yes… he is too pretty to be a man.
OMG at long last…samsung…my hero…blackberry bluuerrgh!!! It has changed my life..welcome to instagram…at long last 🙂
Hey you changed your blog again! Yeah it is sooooo amazing!!!
